Company OverviewMeet Life Sciences is partnering with a stealth neurotechnology company in San Francisco developing advanced brain-computer interface technology intended to help restore autonomy and improve quality of life for people living with disabilities. They are hiring a Hardware Test Engineer to support verification activities for complex custom electromechanical hardware systems, including internal design verification testing, external lab coordination, test method development, hardware characterization, and formal protocol/report documentation in an early-stage, high-impact environment.Team CultureThis is a small, hands-on engineering team where each person has meaningful ownership and visibility across the product lifecycle. The environment is fast-moving, collaborative, and cross-functional, with an emphasis on practical problem-solving, continuous learning, and building systems that can have real-world patient impact.Role OverviewWe are looking for a Hardware Test Engineer to support verification and validation activities for complex custom hardware systems and subsystems. This person will be responsible for executing internal and external testing, supporting test method development, documenting results, and helping bring up custom test infrastructure.Primary ResponsibilitiesExecute internal design verification testing for hardware systems and subsystemsCoordinate and support testing performed by external laboratories or vendorsWork closely with engineering teams to develop and refine custom test methodsCollaborate with design engineers to characterize hardware performanceSupport dry runs and transfer of test procedures to outside partnersDocument test execution, results, deviations, and conclusions in formal reportsContribute to the development and improvement of test fixtures, equipment, and processesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field.3+ years of industry experience testing electromechanical or hardware-based productsExperience executing verification testing and contributing to test planning or test designExperience writing test protocols, documenting results, and preparing formal test reportsExperience working within a quality-controlled or regulated product development environment.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in a relevant engineering or technical disciplineFamiliarity with medical device development, regulated hardware systems, or applicable compliance standardsStrong collaboration skills and comfort working across engineering, quality, and external partnersExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple testing activitiesWillingness to travel occasionally to vendors or test partners, expected to be less than 10%What We OfferWe offer an opportunity to work on highly impactful technology in a collaborative early-stage environmentCompetitive compensation, including equity participationComprehensive benefits packageRetirement plan with the employer
