This role involves close collaboration with the executive team, accounting, and various departments to provide financial reporting to inform business strategy and direction.What Your Day Will Look LikeManaging the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business resultsTimely coordination and scheduling of monthly accounting closePreparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial and management reports, providing management with information vital to the decision-making processResponsible for directing the company's accounting functionOversight of the payroll functionResponsible for treasury functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash managementIn coordination with the Accounting and Finance leadership, directs the establishment of accounting principles, practices and procedures in compliance with GAAPOversee and coordinate tax filings and regulatory complianceManage the year-end close, preparing annual financial statements, annual audit, and compiling required audit schedules and reconciliationsManage the annual budgeting process, including directing team members on account-level historical research and future estimation, incorporating final budgets accurately into Merit's ERP system, and ensuring the budget schedule stays on trackAnalysis and interpretation of trends requiring management's attentionAssist in acquisitions, integrations and system implementations as neededIdentifying opportunities to streamline and automate accounting / reporting functionsReview and recommend modifications to systems, procedures, and internal controlsYou're perfect for this role if you:Are an experienced accounting leader with a strong track record supporting or partnering with a CFO or executive team on financial reporting and complianceBring deep expertise in accounting operations, internal controls, and financial reporting, with a commitment to accuracy and integrityPossess strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insightsHave the executive presence to confidently communicate financial results and key issues to senior leadership and external stakeholdersThrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail, organization, and adherence to deadlinesAre both hands-on and strategic, comfortable diving into the details of accounting processes while continuously improving systems, controls, and overall financial operationsBring hands-on experience with accounting software packages and automating accounting functionsWhat You BringBachelor's degree in Accounting or related fieldCPA certification7 - 10+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or Controller capacityIn-depth knowledge of GAAP complianceStrong ERP systems acumen and Microsoft Excel skillsetExceptional attention to detail, analytical ability, and integrityProven ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a growth environmentWhat We ProvideAt Merit, we ask a lot of our employees, which is why we give so much in return.
