This position partners with the VP ISC to lead Plant Controllers (Senior Managers) and Platform Associate Directors of Finance (where applicable). If you think the open position you see is right for you, we encourage you to apply!Our people make all the difference in our successResponsibilitiesBe responsible for the FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) for the manufacturing plants and OCOS (Other Cost of Sales)Oversight for the monthly financial impact versus budget/forecastPrepare and communicate actionable reporting to ISC and Business leadership teamsFinancial Modeling and decision making (Make vs Buy, Site impacts, etc)Accountable for successful budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes for manufacturing plants and related ISC functionsBusiness partner to the VP of ISC Actively participates on the ISC Finance leadership council Creates an open, inclusive environment for employees to grow and challenge themselvesLeader should create a culture of innovation; enabling teams to develop solutions to business problems and elevating those ideas that are successful to the broader group to achieve economies of scaleEnsures accounting treatments are accurate and enforce to GAAP – proactively engages the Controller organization for technical treatments where disagreement or uncertainty existsAlign with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and proceduresStay in sync with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principlesPlant site and headquarter visits, as the need arisesAd hoc support or special projects, as requiredMinimum RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceExperience:7+ years of relevant accounting and/or FP&A experience5+ years of people management experienceDemonstrated background in Operations Finance, Costing, and AnalysisCore Technical SkillsAdvanced Excel proficiency (complex spreadsheets, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros)Strong working knowledge of financial systems and tools (HFM, SAP, JDE, BPC)Deep expertise in SAP within a manufacturing environmentPrior ownership of large-scale standard costing environmentsERP costing experience supporting:Standard cost build-upsWork order variance analysisProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)Finance & ComplianceStrong understanding of GAAP accountingAbility to ensure accurate accounting treatments and partner with Controllers on technical mattersLeadership & Business AcumenProven ability to:Partner with senior leaders (VP-level)Build credibility and challenge business partners constructivelyStrong analytical, decision-making, and critical thinking skillsAbility to manage tight deadlines, ambiguity, and multiple prioritiesDemonstrated collaboration, influence, and communication skillsWork ModelAbility to work on-site a minimum of 4 days per weekWillingness to travel for plant and headquarters visitsPreferred QualificationsAdvanced CredentialsMBACPA or CMABD / ISC-Specific ExperiencePrior experience in BDX Integrated Supply Chain FinanceFamiliarity with BD plant networks, costing models, and ISC governanceStrategic Finance ExposureExperience leading Make vs. Buy analysesSite footprint optimization and manufacturing network modelingHigh-level P&L integration tied to ISC strategyEnterprise Leadership PresencePrior participation on finance leadership councilsTrack record of scaling innovation and best practices across sites or regionsAt BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
