Senior WordPress Web Developer
Overview
We are hiring a Senior WordPress Developer to support the development, maintenance, and deployment of client websites. This role focuses on WordPress (including Gutenberg Full Site Editor), web hosting environments (SiteGround, GoDaddy, AWS EC2), and DNS/email troubleshooting.
The ideal candidate is highly technical, comfortable working across multiple client environments, and able to independently diagnose and resolve production website and email issues.
Core Responsibilities
Build and maintain WordPress websites using Gutenberg / Full Site Editor
Implement complex layout, styling, and functional changes in various different WordPress environments
Launch and migrate websites across web hosting platforms (SiteGround, GoDaddy)
Troubleshoot production website issues (plugins, themes, performance, errors)
Manage and configure DNS records:
A, CNAME, MX, TXT
Nameserver configuration and propagation troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve client email issues:
SPF, DKIM, DMARC configuration
MX routing issues
Deliverability and spam issues
Debug broken sites and identify root causes quickly
Work within existing WordPress themes and frameworks
Support QA and deployment workflows across multiple client sites
Required Skills
5+ years WordPress development experience
Strong experience with Gutenberg / Full Site Editor (FSE)
Strong understanding of WordPress architecture (themes, plugins, hooks, filters)
HTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery acceptable for legacy systems)
Experience deploying and managing sites on web hosting platforms:
SiteGround
GoDaddy
Strong DNS knowledge:
Domain zones and nameservers
A, CNAME, MX, TXT records
Email routing concepts
Ability to troubleshoot production issues independently
Experience managing multiple WordPress sites using site management platforms such as:
ManageWP
WP Umbrella
Or similar centralized WordPress management tools
Experience with performance optimization:
Caching strategies (page/object/browser)
Image optimization
Minification and asset optimization
General front-end performance debugging
Success in This Role Looks Like
Websites are launched correctly with minimal supervision
DNS and email issues are resolved quickly and correctly
Gutenberg/FSE issues are debugged rather than bypassed
Production issues are handled without escalation
Reliable execution across multiple client environments
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
