STUDENT-Aural Skills Peer Tutor
Job DescriptionJob Duties:Tutoring a wide range of students in aural skills, an average of 4-5 hours per week during Block 3 (Jan. 20 - March 13, 2026) of the 2025-6 academic year. Occasionally tutor music theory as needed.Hours Per Week:4-5Anticipated Work Schedule:Other - Set hours in a static schedule; typically scheduled between 3-8pm, plus additional tutoring appointments by arrangement. During fall and spring semesters, including final exam periods.Qualifications:Outstanding academic achievement as evidenced by GPAOutstanding achievement in aural skills and music theory courses, with grades of A or A- in each course takenCurrent enrollment in or past completion of Aural Skills IV and Music Theory IIIFormal or informal experience teaching/tutoring aural skills and music theory requiredRising Junior preferredExcellent communication skillsPersonal qualities conducive to one-on-one conferences, such as a friendly, approachable manner; patience; good listening abilities; and a sense of maturity and responsibilityA completed application will include a resume and a brief cover letter indicating your interest and any prior teaching/tutoring experiences.
