School Safety Officer (Gwinnett County Public Schools)

We are seeking professional, dependable, and community-focused School Safety Officers to support a safe and structured learning environment within Gwinnett County Public Schools for the 2026-2027 School Year. This role is centered around prevention, visibility, and positive interaction with students, staff, and visitors.Key Responsibilities:Maintain a visible presence on campus to deter and prevent safety concernsMonitor entrances, exits, and campus activity throughout assigned shiftsConduct routine patrols of school grounds and facilitiesAssist with arrival, dismissal, and high-traffic periods to ensure order and safetyRespond promptly to incidents, disturbances, or emergenciesEnforce school policies and safety procedures in a professional mannerProvide support to school administrators and staff as neededComplete detailed incident and activity reportsQualifications:Previous security, law enforcement, or school safety experience preferredStrong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with students of all agesProfessional, calm, and authoritative presenceAbility to remain alert and proactive in a dynamic school environmentStrong judgment and conflict resolution skillsRequirementsMust pass a comprehensive background screening in accordance with school district standardsMust pass a pre-employment drug screeningMust possess a valid Georgia 24-Hour Unarmed Security Officer Certification prior to start dateMust be able to meet all clearance requirements required for placement within Gwinnett County Public SchoolsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsReliable transportation and consistent attendance requiredBenefits$19//hour competitive payOpportunity to make a direct impact on student safety and community well-beingStructured and professional work environmentPotential for long-term placement and growth opportunities
