Material Handler, 1st Shift

DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Material Handler position compiles, maintains material, parts and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesReceive and store materials and then pick and package items to fill ordersperforming regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.Operates material handling equipmentChecks products being shipped against shipping orders to ensure proper quantity, and identificationCoordinates with the logistics department on all outbound shipmentsChecks packaging requirementsEnsuring deliveries match purchase orders and documenting inventory accurately.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesAbility to read, comprehend and carry out detailed written/oral instructionsAbility to operate a forkliftCompetencyEffective verbal and written communication skillsCreative problem-solving skillsAble to work in a fast-paced environmentProven organizational skillsAbility to prioritize and work independentlyRequirementsPhysical Requirements:Able to push, carry, lift, and move materials up to 25 pounds.Ability to work while walking/standing for extended periods of timeAbility to lift heavy items, stand or walk for extended periods, and perform repetitive manual labor.Able to walk across a production facility.Work EnvironmentTypical production environment.Willing and able to work additional hours as needed to ensure responsibilities are met.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent1-3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment1-3 years’ forklift experienceComputer skillsBi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.At VMC Group we believe in supporting our employees both professionally and personally.
