Working here, you'll feel part of a family that is dedicated to making a difference and helping others.What You'll Work OnA Mechanic II maintains, repairs, and services manufacturing and facility systems.Perform skilled maintenance and repair services of manufacturing and facility systems such as mechanical and building systemsInterpret blueprints and schematicsImplement methods, practices and techniques of maintaining building and facilities to identify and address recurring problems with machinery, equipment or partsConduct periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repairAdhere to current sanitation and GMP requirementsMaintain current status on all required trainingYou'll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and proceduresRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED1+ years of previous experience with machine repair in a manufacturing environmentUnderstanding of mechanical system, mechanical and spatial aptitudeAbility to troubleshoot and determine the cause of improper machine operation and make necessary adjustments and repairs to return to proper operationKnowledge of fluid and hydraulic systemsKnowledge of proper lubrication procedures with oil and greaseDemonstrated seamer proficiencyAttention to detailPreferred QualificationsTechnical DiplomaPredictive Maintenance experience/trainingBackflow Prevention certified by Michigan Mechanics and Plumbers and Construction AssociationSeamer certified via formal Angelus or Pneumatic Scale Seamer SchoolIn compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
