QC Inspector, Processing - Aerospace
Inspectors are key personnel in the Accurus Quality Department, and their duties are integral to our overall quality management system and customer satisfaction. These employees perform inspections on newly received goods and work-in-process, and are responsible for final inspections of machined aerospace parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and work instructions. Inspectors are required to document specific information regarding approvals and non-conforming parts and may be involved in problem-solving to identify rework requirements. Additionally, inspectors may provide quality and/or manufacturing process training for manufacturing personnel.Processing inspectors use precision measurement tools (mics, calipers, gauges, etc.) to perform inspections on parts after painting or chemical processing has been completed.Essential FunctionsTo accomplish this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Determines and utilizes appropriate inspection methods and instruments (micrometers, height gauges, air gauges, radius gauges, calipers, CMM, etc.) to complete in-process and final inspection of machined aerospace parts and assemblies, including simple to moderate layouts and setups on a surface plateMay operate CMMInspects complex machined fixtures and parts using advanced measuring and layout instruments and equipmentParticipates in design reviews on cross-functional teams to ensure that conformance to specifications, inspectability, reliability, and quality system objectives are met; provides technical support for manufacturing operations to ensure part qualityMay assist engineering with the qualification and validation of new or changed tooling or partsInterprets drawings featuring Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) to identify product inspection requirementsGenerates inspection reports; analyzes inspection reports to determine adherence to drawings, specifications, and processing procedures; Initiates nonconformance records and disposition of parts not meeting requirementsPrepare detailed inspection documentation, such as written descriptions of inspection results, including deviations from engineering specificationsCommunicates effectively and professionally with internal and external personnel to identify root causes, troubleshoot and address errors and trends, and negotiate the resolution of non-conforming parts and necessary rework or re-inspectionPerforms other duties as requiredRegular attendance on-site at the workplace is requiredThis Role Is Identified As Requiring ITAR (International Traffic In Arms Regulations) Compliance; Therefore, Qualified Candidates Must Meet The Definition Of a U.S. Person (per EAR Part 772 And ITAR 120.15):An individual who is granted U.S. citizenship, orAn individual who is granted U.S. permanent residence (i.e., a "Green Card" holder), orAn individual who is granted status as a "protected person"Required Education And Work ExperienceA high School Diploma or GED equivalentAn associate degree or similar post-secondary or vocational training in machining or a similar program is preferredA minimum of two (2) years of experience as a CMM Operator in a machining environment; aerospace industry experience is preferredOther Required Skills And AbilitiesDemonstrated accuracy in reading and interpreting blueprints, planning, and engineering documents, quality standards, customer specifications, manufacturing control plans, including PCM, and other technical design standardsAdvanced mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide using fractions and decimal equivalents), familiar with geometric toleranceExperience in accurately reading precision measuring instrumentation, including mics, calipers, height gauges, tape measures, and other similar devicesUnderstanding of nonconforming productKnowledge of customer and industry standards and quality system requirements, including AS9100, and FAA requirementsKnowledge of problem-solving techniques (i.e., Statistical Quality Control/Statistical Process-Control, etc.) is preferredAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (English)Basic skills using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word; ERP experience is advantageousPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentTo Perform The Essential Functions Of The Role, Employees Must Be Able To Perform The Following Activities With Or Without Reasonable Accommodations:Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, including all buildings and the manufacturing areasPeriodically lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 100 pounds using cranes or other material handling equipment and/or peer assistanceRegularly climb steps, stairs, or laddersOccasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneelConstantly communicate verbally and in writing (English) using a phone, texts, or other messagingVisual acuity to accurately read mics, calipers, or other precision measuring instruments; accurately distinguish colorsUse hands and fingers to operate computer keyboards, measurement instruments, and manually examine partsVisual ability to read precise measurements and part markingsWorking ConditionsWork is performed in a manufacturing shop environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee may be exposed to:Excessive noise (hearing protection required)Dust, smoke, mist, fumes/vapors (regularly)Extreme temperatures (occasionally)Hazardous equipment, including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment (continually)The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and safety footwear is required.We appreciate your interest in Accurus Aerospace; however, only those applicants selected for interviews will be contacted.Accurus offers a comprehensive employee benefit package upon completion of 30 days of employment.
