Interim Controller

THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOININGA fast-paced construction and land development organization with continued growth across multiple related entities A finance and accounting team supporting project-based operations, construction services, land development, and shared services accounting A highly visible accounting function working directly with the VP of Accounting and CFO A business environment where accuracy, urgency, and process improvement are critical to supporting continued scale A team looking for an experienced accounting leader who can step in quickly, stabilize workflow, and create immediate value LOCATIONOnsite 5 days in Charlotte, NC, supporting the accounting leadership team directly What They Offer YouInterim contract opportunity expected to 4 to 6 months, with potential to convert to a permanent full-time role Immediate visibility with senior finance leadership, including direct partnership with the VP of Accounting and CFO Opportunity to support a growing, multi-entity construction and land development environment Chance to identify efficiencies, improve processes, and bring structure to a fast-moving accounting function Exposure to project-based accounting, job costing, QuickBooks Enterprise, and construction-related financial operations WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANTThe position will support month-end close, financial reporting, accounting operations, and day-to-day accounting workflow This person will help maintain accuracy, continuity, and responsiveness during a period of team transition The role offers the ability to make an immediate impact by strengthening processes, improving visibility, and supporting leadership decision-making THE BACKGROUND THAT FITSProgressive accounting and finance experience, ideally within construction, real estate, land development, homebuilding, sitework, or another project-based environment Strong QuickBooks experience required, with QuickBooks Enterprise experience especially helpful CPA preferred, but not required for the right interim accounting leader Experience with multi-entity accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, AP, AR, billing, bank reconciliations, and cash management Comfortable working independently, learning quickly, and jumping into a fast-paced environment with limited ramp-up time Strong Excel skills and experience with systems such as Smartsheet, BuildPro, Brixx, QuickBooks Enterprise, or similar accounting and project management tools preferred Overachiever mindset, strong attention to detail, and ability to bring calm, accuracy, and accountability to a changing accounting environment On Hold
