Medical Coder and Biller

We are seeking an experienced Medical Coder to support accurate and timely coding within our behavioral health practice. This role is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation, assigning correct CPT codes, and ensuring compliance with payer and regulatory guidelines. Key Responsibilities Review clinical charts and documentation within the Kipu EMR system Assign accurate CPT codes based on services rendered Ensure coding aligns with current CPT standards and payer requirements Identify incomplete or unclear documentation and collaborate with clinical staff for clarification Maintain accurate coding logs, quality metrics, and compliance records Support the revenue cycle by ensuring timely and precise code assignment Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience Proficiency with CPT coding (ICD‑10 experience preferred) Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Knowledge of behavioral health or mental health coding preferred Preferred Qualifications Active certification: CPC, CCS, or CBCS Experience with Kipu EMR or similar behavioral health platforms Knowledge of workers’ compensation and commercial insurance requirements Understanding of mental health and substance abuse services billing Details: Contract | $30/hr Full-time, Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM Job Type: Temporary Pay: $29.00 - $30.00 per hour Experience: Kipu EMR: 2 years (Required) CPT coding: 2 years (Required) Work Location: In person
