Sr. Java Developer
We’re looking for a Senior Java Developer to help build and modernize backend solutions for a fast-paced enterprise platform team. This hybrid role is based in Menlo Park, CA and offers the opportunity to work on impactful product development, scalable systems, and feature delivery in a collaborative environment.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and support backend services and components for a core platform teamContribute to product development and modernization efforts across new features and capabilitiesParticipate in technical design discussions, whiteboarding sessions, and solution planningDevelop high-quality code while following best practices, testing standards, and automation processesCollaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional partners in a fast-moving delivery environmentHelp define interfaces and data exchange between system modulesImprove application performance, scalability, and reliability through thoughtful design and implementationSupport build, release, and deployment activities as part of the development lifecycleSkillsStrong experience with Java and Spring FrameworkBackground in microservices architecture and developmentHands-on knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SybaseAbility to design and deliver scalable, distributed applicationsSolid understanding of software design principles, object-oriented design, and coding standardsStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearlyExperience working in agile development environmentsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field, or equivalent professional experienceAt least 7 years of relevant professional experience, or 5 years with a master’s degree, or 2 years with a PhDPreferred SkillsExperience with Python scriptingExposure to Go developmentFamiliarity with Kubernetes, containers, and service mesh technologiesExperience building cloud-based solutions using AWS or Azure servicesBackground in optimizing application performance and improving system efficiencyStrong analytical thinking and the ability to work through ambiguous problemsComfort working with global teams and adapting to time-zone flexibility when neededWillingness to learn new tools, technologies, and systems to support business goalsWe’re committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where diverse perspectives are valued, respected, and encouraged.
