Their role includes timely and careful food delivery, maintaining a strong understanding of the menu and its special requirements, effective communication with both customers and the restaurant team, and keeping their work area clean and organized. Collaborative teamwork with other restaurant staff is al-so essential. Overall, Food Runners play a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience by upholding high standards of courtesy, efficiency, and menu.Essential Job Functions Maintain complete knowledge of the menu, ingredients, preparation method and garnishes for each menu item Maintain knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, and proper table set up Able to coordinate with the culinary and operations team on menu items Performs opening and closing procedures including but not limited to the setup and break down of stations, side‐work, clearing tables and re‐setting tables Ensure that the table is marked and ready before dropping plates Ensure members have everything they need on the tables after delivery food Assist all servers, bartenders, and managers with carrying plates Communicate effectively and courteously with members and co‐workers Manage the line and work environment with compliance cleanliness standards, i.e.: finger smudges, spots, and sauce spills Present food to members/guests in a timely, precise, and efficient manner, in accordance with the standards Notify direct supervisor when applicable to assist in monitoring and maintaining the inventory of supplies Participate in teamwork and assist other departments when needed Work diligently to achieve outstanding service quality Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/managerEssential Competencies, Education And Requirements Think experience, education, and physical abilities (how would we screen this person) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor under pressure. Strong organizational and verbal communication skills Excellent guest and employee relations skills Ability to satisfactorily communicate in job-related English. Able to lift and carry containers and equipment weighing 25 lbs Able to reach various levels ranging from overhead to the floor. Able to work in environments with extreme temperatures. Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages. Certification and/or previous training in liquor, wine, and food service. Food handling certificate Certification in C.P.R. is recommended. Patient and friendly with demonstrated experience in problem solving. Must be able to multitask and work in a face paced team environment. Thoroughness and professionalism.
