Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the overseeing of sales, human resources, inventory control, merchandising, providing outstanding client service, and maximizing profits by controlling expenses. The Assistant Manager also supports the Store Manager in recruiting, staffing and developing all employees.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership Effectiveness:Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers, and management teamDemonstrates proper etiquette when communicating with internal and external clients (i.e. in-person, phone, e-mail, and written communication)Communicates effectively and develops and maintains professional relationshipsEffectively teaches, demonstrates and implements training programs to ensure staff is trained in product knowledge, clienteling and relationship selling skillsPromotes and supports the St. John customer loyalty programsCreate and maintain positive employee relations by leading and developing a professional store teamAssists Store Manager and administers on-going, specific and immediate coaching and feedback delivery of all performance documentation in a timely manner; Monthly Touch Base, store meetings, Performance Review, Employee Notices and Performance Improvement PlanCoaches, develops, and motivates the sales team on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to meet sales goalsEffectively teaches, demonstrates and ensures all store staff complies with all Company initiativesSupports in the recruiting, hiring and development of top sales professionals; maintain an active networking groupAssists Store Manager in maintaining staffing levels in accordance to store headcountDevelop staff for internal succession planningResolve client issues and requests in a efficient and quick mannerDemonstrates high level of quality in work, attendance and appearanceSolves problems/issues methodically and with a sense of urgencyTakes appropriate partnerships with Store Manager, Human Resources and other corporate partnersBusiness Development:Assists Store Manager in developing and implementing a strategic plan to achieve store business goalsSets daily, weekly and monthly sales goals for the store and the sales team and ensure sales goals are achievedCoach and develop staff to exceed individual and store goalsCommunicate and successfully promote programs, marketing tools and events aimed at increasing businessUtilize and maintain client database for phone calls, appointments, and eventsUnderstands the company’s business strategies and directionFollows through and accomplishes multiple projects / priorities in a timely mannerOperations:Support Store Manager to achieve/exceed all financial and operational objectives with regards to expense control, loss prevention, audits, payroll and weekly reportsMaximize store profits through inventory managementAssist in preparation, coordination and ensuring complete and accurate physical inventory per Company guidelinesAssists in execution and maintenance of visual merchandising standards consistent with the Company brand standards and directivesEnsure accuracy of Company in store promotions and merchandise markdownsPromptly and accurately complete New Hire Paperwork and separation paperwork per Company proceduresMaintains efficient and accurate back room operations to include stockroom organization and shipping/receivingEnsures accuracy of all POS procedures and conducts training of POS System to staffOpens and closes the store performing all tasks to Company standardSupports in the preparation and facilitation of required Store MeetingsMaintains standards of cleanliness and organizationMaintain store and staff safetyMonitors and maintains compliance to all Company Policies & ProceduresAdhere to Timekeeping proceduresAdhere to local, state and federal lawsEducation/Experience:2-3 years retail management experienceLuxury experience preferredRetail operations knowledge including: sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, store Profit and Loss statements and inventory controlGood computer skills: Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook and POS systemsAbility to work varied hours: nights, days and weekends to support the business needs
