Title: Staff Engineer/Firmware Engineer Location: Redmond, WA Direct Client: Microsoft Skills: The specific development role is to support WiFi/BT/NFC design/development/manufacturing across the product line, including: Debugging Windows WiFi/BT/NFC drivers, including functionality, performance, and power consumption issues. Building new WiFi/BT/NFC manufacturing tools for future Surface products. Investigating manufacturing issues, with a goal toward eliminating process errors, reducing manufacturing time, and increasing yield. International travel on occasion to assist in bringing up new production lines. Key software and hardware technologies: Visual Studio development environment Microsoft Windows Kernel Debugger Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel GIT source control Proprietary third-party WiFi/BT/NFC development and manufacturing tools. Litepoint test hardware or equivalents. Required Qualifications: A BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. A minimum of two years of experience in WiFi/RF development/debugging. A minimum of one year experience developing and debugging Windows device drivers. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Excellent C/C++ coding skills. Experience with Perl, Python, and/or Powershell scripting languages.
