Our model combines weekly individualtherapy sessions with structured monthly parent coaching, grounded in a child-led, attachment-focused philosophy. We are currently expanding and seeking a passionate associate therapist to join our growing team.Position SummaryThe Associate Therapist will carry a caseload of child and teen clients, conducting weekly individual therapy sessions and monthly parent coaching sessions for each family. This is a pre-licensed role designed for registered associates working toward full licensure — weekly supervision is provided as required by the California BBS. This is an in-person position based atour San Jose office, averaging 25–35 hours per week across clinical and non-clinical time. Thisrole includes a 90-day introductory period during which fit is evaluated for both the clinician andthe practice. The ideal candidate is deeply committed to working with children and adolescents,comfortable with a child-led therapeutic approach, and looking to build a long-term career inchild and teen therapy — not simply accumulate hours before moving on.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide weekly individual therapy to children and teens ages 3–17Facilitate monthly parent coaching sessions as part of every caseMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentationParticipate in weekly individual supervision as required by the California BBSMaintain a caseload of 15–20 clients as the caseload is built over timeAdhere to all practice policies and procedures, including legal and ethical guidelines,scheduling, and cancellation policiesEngage in ongoing clinical development and learning, including play therapy trainingprovided by the practiceScheduleThis position requires availability during afternoons, evenings, and a minimum of one weekendday. The majority of our clients are school-aged, and after-school and weekend availability isessential to serving this population.QualificationsRequired:Registered Associate Therapist (AMFT, ACSW, or APCC) in good standing with theCalifornia Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), or currently completing a master's programand expecting to graduate soon. Please note that BBS registration typically takes 1–2months after graduation — candidates in this process are welcome to apply.Minimum one year of experience working with children in any capacity — clinical,educational, or otherwise (e.g., teaching, school-based work, childcare, coaching, orgraduate practicum)May not concurrently work at another private practice or group practice offering child orteen therapy services during employment. Employment in non-competing settings —including schools, agencies, and community mental health — is permitted.Preferred:Clinical experience working with children and/or teensCompensation & BenefitsHourly Rate: $55.00/hour (W2 employee) — applies to both clinical and non-clinical hours,including documentation and supervisionAnnual Pay Range: $72,000–$95,000 based on caseload (15–20 clients at $55/hour)Health & Dental Reimbursement: Up to $500/month toward individual health and dentalplans (HRA) — begins at 5 clientsRetirement: 401(k) with employer contribution — begins at 10 clientsPaid Time Off: 2 weeks paid vacation, 5 sick days, 5 floating holidays — begins at 5 clientsSupervision: Weekly individual supervision provided as required by the California BBSNote: Caseload is built gradually.
