With an annual Net Revenue of $16.5 million in 2024, JR Engineering currently has 100 employees with plans to grow to 120 employees over the next 3-5 years.Job SummaryThe Construction Inspector is a primarily field-based role supporting roadway, utility, drainage, and site development projects throughout Colorado. This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are constructed in conformance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable standards while serving as a key liaison between contractors, clients, and the design team. This role offers strong technical growth and exposure to complex civil infrastructure projects. Examples of projects that JR Engineering performs are roadway reconstruction, water and wastewater infrastructure, stormwater improvements, bridge or structural elements, and land development/site grading.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesPerform daily field inspection and observation of civil construction activities including earthwork, utilities, concrete placement, paving operations, traffic control implementation, and erosion control measures.Prepare accurate daily inspection reports, photographs, and field documentation.Observe contractor conformance with approved plans, specifications, and standards.Measure and document installed quantities for payment verification in accordance with contract documents and unit bid items.Review Traffic Control Plans for conformance (no installation responsibility).Assist with RFIs, submittals, and design clarifications.Coordinate with contractors, clients, and JR Engineering staff.Required Skills/AbilityWorking knowledge of civil construction practices including earthwork, utilities, concrete, paving, and traffic control. General experience with regulatory agencies, with familiarity with federal, state, and local policies.Strong verbal/written communication, planning and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and resources in a dynamic environment.Strong interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution, analytical, and time and resource management skills. Ability to work outdoors in varying site and weather conditions.
