Job Title: Transmission & Distribution (T&D) / Substation Project ManagerLocation: Syracuse, NYExperience Level: 2+ YearsEmployment Type: Full-TimeOverviewWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented T&D / Substation Project Manager to support the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical transmission, distribution, and substation projects in the Syracuse region. This role is ideal for a candidate with early project management experience in utility or power infrastructure who is ready to take ownership of smaller-to-midscale projects and grow into more complex assignments.The Project Manager will work closely with engineers, construction teams, utility clients, and subcontractors to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day execution of T&D and substation construction projects from initiation through closeoutCoordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project alignmentDevelop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and progress reportingOversee contractor performance, site activities, and construction quality assuranceEnsure compliance with all safety standards, utility specifications, and regulatory requirementsSupport outage planning, switching coordination, and commissioning activitiesTrack project costs, change orders, and forecasting updatesAttend client meetings and provide regular status updates and project documentationAssist senior project managers with larger, complex utility infrastructure projectsRequired Qualifications2+ years of experience in construction, utilities, or electrical infrastructure projectsExposure to transmission, distribution, or substation construction strongly preferredBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)Strong organizational and communication skillsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, one-lines, and substation diagramsFamiliarity with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar)Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as neededPreferred QualificationsExperience working with utility clients or EPC contractorsKnowledge of substation equipment (breakers, transformers, switchgear)Understanding of OSHA safety standards and utility safety protocolsPrior experience supporting energized work or outage coordinationPMP certification or progress toward certificationWhat We OfferCompetitive salary and performance-based incentivesCareer development and training in utility-scale project managementExposure to high-voltage transmission and substation projectsOpportunity for advancement into senior PM rolesComprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, retirement plan)
