Oldcastle FRD ships through multiple carrier networks including Parcel, LTL, and FTL via common carrier and our private fleet. The Director of Logistics would have direct responsibility for all freight activity including HR, Safety, Operations as well as the Morristown, TN distribution facility. This role would also have influence over quality and productivity in the shipping departments at all of our manufacturing facilities.Job LocationThis is a hybrid opportunity that needs to be located near our transportation office in Marlton, NJ or our distribution center in Morristown, TN.Job ResponsibilitiesAnalyze all aspects of company logistics to determine and recommend the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or suppliesEstablish Logistics strategies for inbound and outbound freight needs, own vs leased equipment decisions, and 3rd party carrier selectionResolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, and work in concert with customer service to proactively manage deliveries and resolve damage or delay concernsAnalyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers. Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or cadenceEnsure compliance with relevant regulatory and legal authorities, including the DOT relative to our private company fleet, as well as company safety policiesNegotiate transportation services and rates while owning carrier management processes including assessment, selection, and performanceEstablish specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems and build strategic goals for optimizing across the teamStreamline and improve operations efficiency for parcel handling by implementing new technology around material movement and inventory managementRecommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequencyMonitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirementsParticipate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluationPlan and implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processesJob Requirements10+ plus years' logistics/distribution multi-site management experience utilizing diverse modes of transportation, with experience leading and managing Logistics teams in implementing best practices and processesWell versed in business and management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, production methodology, and coordination of people and resourcesKnowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques along with skills to maximize the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsKnowledge of multi-channel distribution, ERP, and TMS systems with strong excel skillsWilling and able to travel up to 50% to company plants or regional officesCompensationBase Salary is $160,000 - $200,000120 Hours Annual PTOBonus target is 20%401(k) retirement savings programShort-term and long-term disability benefitsWhat CRH Offers YouHighly competitive base payComprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programsGroup retirement savings programHealth and wellness programsAn inclusive culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotionAbout CRHCRH has a long and proud heritage.
