This position requires a strong understanding of drilling techniques, equipment operation, safety standards, and job‐site coordination.Company Culture• High accountability and strong documentation• Direct communication and follow‐through• Comfortable with a fast pace and multiple deadlines• Ownership mentality; emotionally mature; accepts feedback• Tech‐savvy (Microsoft 365: Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)Compensation & Benefits• Compensation: $23.00 - $26.00 an hour (based on experience)• Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrued every pay period; increases with tenure• Paid Holidays: 7 full paid holidays annually• Half‐Day Holidays (Salaried): Christmas Eve & New Year's Eve• 401(k) Retirement Plan: 3.5% employer match• Profit Sharing (Salaried): Based on company performance and KPIs• Health, Dental & Vision Insurance: Available to eligible employeesWhat You Will Do• Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment safely and efficiently to complete bore paths according to plans and specifications• Set up, align, and monitor drill rigs, tooling, and support equipment• Read and interpret bore profiles, utility locates, and construction drawings• Monitor drilling fluid systems and maintain proper drilling conditions• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on HDD equipment• Accurately track bore depth, pitch, and direction while adjusting as needed• Communicate effectively with locators, spotters, supervisors, and crew members• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and job‐site requirements• Assist with job‐site preparation, cleanup, and restoration as needed• Mentor junior estimators and help elevate department standardsRequired Experience• Proven experience operating horizontal directional drilling equipment• Knowledge of underground utility installation and locating procedures• Ability to read and understand construction plans and bore paths• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills• Valid driver's license (CDL preferred, if applicable)• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy materialsAll Office Positions• Tech‐savvy; experience with AI tools and Microsoft 365• Strong organizational discipline and documentation habits• Ability to thrive in a fast‐paced, high‐volume bid environment• Bilingual (Spanish preferred; English required)Disqualifiers• No prior hands‐on HDD operating experience• Failure to comply with safety procedures• Unreliable attendance or lack of accountability• Inability to perform physically demanding outdoor work• Failure to complete required documentationCertifications• HDD Operator certification or equivalent industry credential• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30• First Aid/CPR• Utility locating or underground safety certificationsCompany DescriptionAt ACG, hard work leads to real results: career advancement, increased earning potential, certifications, mentorship, and long term stability.
