CENTRAL DATA ENTRY TECHNICIAN

Description: The Central Data Entry Technician operates under the offsite supervision of the onsite pharmacist and is responsible for performing new prescription data entry and processing refills (que and “Refills Due” reports). Central Data Entry Technicians build upon the skills and responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician and are focused on supporting multiple locations with prescription processing while providing clear and concise communication with the Pharmacist and other pharmacy staff onsite as well as assigned pharmacy locations. The ideal candidate for this position is licensed, registered and/or certified based upon state requirements where the assigned pharmacy is located, detail-oriented, able to multitask, able to work both independently and as a team in a fast-paced local and virtual environment. The ideal candidate must be able to triage pharmacy tasks, while ensuring all medications needs, patient safety and regulatory compliance standards are met. Central Data Entry Technicians must always demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain patient confidentiality. **This is NOT a remote work position** The duties of this job are as follows: Handle incoming and outgoing communications via telephone, audio/visual technology, fax, email or any other form of communications necessary Communicate with on-site and assigned pharmacy teams, medical staff, insurance companies to resolve issues, ensure accuracy and deliver timely resolution of any medication or insurance related concerns Receive and process prescriptions for multiple pharmacies as assigned Computer processing/adding patients, doctors, drugs, etc. Manages the prescription que for multiple pharmacies as assigned Communicates third party/DUR/clarifications/negative margins and other prescription problems to the pharmacy staff at the onsite and assigned pharmacy Manages time effectively and processes “Refills Due” report at each location Maintains compliance with security and asset protection as it pertains to pharmacy equipment Trains back up person for vacations, sick days, etc. Creates a friendly, caring, safe and happy environment/culture for both customer and teammates.
