We’re constantly reimagining what’s possible in our industry, creating disruptively simple, powerfully clear ways to maximize financial outcomes and drive down healthcare costs.We’re seeking a skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team!Position SummaryThe Senior Tax Accountant will support the company’s tax function by overseeing income tax compliance processes performed by third‑party advisors, preparing income tax provisions, managing indirect tax matters, and assisting with other tax‑related initiatives. This role requires close coordination with external advisors and internal stakeholders in a structured, corporate environment.Key ResponsibilitiesIncome Tax Compliance OversightAct as the primary internal liaison with external tax advisors responsible for the preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returnsReview income tax returns prepared by third‑party providers for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with company recordsCoordinate the gathering and delivery of tax data, workpapers, and approvals to meet compliance deadlinesAssist with responding to tax notices, inquiries, and audits from taxing authoritiesMaintain tax fixed assetsMaintain tax compliance calendars and supporting documentationIncome Tax Accounting & ProvisionPrepare annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740Calculate current and deferred tax expense, including analysis of temporary and permanent differencesSupport effective tax rate forecasting, valuation allowance assessments, and uncertain tax positionsPrepare and review tax-related journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement disclosuresPartner with the Accounting team to support accurate and timely financial reportingIndirect TaxesManage indirect tax processes, including sales and use tax, property tax, and other non‑income‑based taxesOversee indirect tax filings prepared internally or by external service providersMonitor nexus, registration, and compliance requirements across applicable jurisdictionsSupport process improvements and documentation related to indirect tax complianceTax Planning & Other InitiativesSupport tax planning initiatives, including entity structuring, intercompany matters, and transaction‑related activitiesAssist with tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and reorganizationsProvide support related to capitalization table maintenance in coordination with Accounting, Legal, and external advisorsParticipate in process improvement, internal control documentation, and tax automation effortsMonitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts to the organizationRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field3+ years relevant tax experience in public accounting and/or industryStrong understanding of U.S. federal and state income tax principlesExperience preparing or reviewing income tax provisions under ASC 740Preferred QualificationsCPA and/or Master’s degree in TaxationExperience in private equity–backed or complex corporate structuresExposure to transaction‑related tax mattersExposure to indirect tax mattersExperience managing relationships with external tax advisorsWhat We OfferTop Medical/Dental/Vision offerings FSA/HSA Tuition reimbursement Competitive salary, 401(k) with company match Additional health and wellness benefits and perks Flexible and trusting environment where you’ll feel empowered to do your best workThe salary for this position is based on an array of factors unique to each candidate: Such as years and depth of experience, set skills, certifications, etc. We are hiring for different levels, and our Recruiting team will let you know if you qualify for a different role/range.Pay range: $110,000-$125,000 + Annual BonusEqual Employment Opportunity at MachinifyWe are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status.
