Computer Aided Design Designer
Job Details:Job Title: CAD Artist / Graphic Designer (Accessories)Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid)Duration: 6 MonthsType: Full-Time, ContractDescription:We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented CAD Artist / Graphic Designer to support the design and development of accessories. This role requires a strong eye for color, material, and trend, along with the technical ability to translate concepts into accurate, high-quality CAD renderings. The ideal candidate is versatile across design tools and can bring ideas to life through compelling visual presentations.Key Responsibilities:Create detailed CADs for accessories, including colorways, materials, and construction detailsDevelop and present multiple design options (color, material, and graphic variations)Collaborate closely with design, product development, and merchandising teamsTranslate hand sketches or concepts into polished digital artworkEnsure accuracy and consistency across all CADs and technical filesStay up to date on trends in accessories, materials, and colorPrepare presentation boards and visual assets for internal reviewsTop 5-7 Skills:High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop3D CAD software experience (e.g., Rhino, KeyShot, SolidWorks, or CLO 3D)Strong understanding of color, material, finish (CMF), and accessory constructionAbility to create multiple design variations quickly and accuratelyKnowledge of textile, leather, and hardware applications for accessoriesPresentation board and line sheet developmentTrend research and applicationRequirements for the role:Ability to translate hand sketches or verbal concepts into polished digital CADsExperience creating accurate renderings with attention to stitching, seams, trims, and hardwareStrong organizational skills to manage multiple design options and revisionsAbility to work cross-functionally with design, product development, and merchandising teamsPortfolio demonstrating accessory-specific CAD work required (include color/material callouts and presentation boards)[Optional] Experience creating tech packs or factory-ready artwork is a plusEducation and Experience:Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accessory Design, Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or related field2–4 years of professional experience in accessory, footwear, soft goods, or related product designOr equivalent combination of education and experienceMindlance is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in employment on the basis of Minority/ Gender/ Disability/ Religion/ LGBTQI/ Age/ Veterans.
