CNC OperatorPGS Worldwide is seeking a CNC Operator in Orlando, Florida for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite position supports a mechanical engineering machine shop fabricating aerospace-grade prototype and development parts and assemblies for research, development, and contracted programs. The role works in a clean, climate-controlled environment and supports internal customers by setting up and operating CNC equipment, fabricating metal components, and managing competing shop priorities.Required SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent experience with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical associate degree, or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical tasks with 3+ years of experience3+ years of experience with CNC programming3+ years of experience in technical fabrication involving metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, and composites fabrication in a team environment3+ years of experience fabricating basic steel and aluminum alloys using knee mills, band saws, manual lathes, and basic hand-powered metal cutting toolsExperience setting up and operating CNC machinesKnowledge of G and M codesAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawingsExperience using Windows-based Microsoft Office tools for communication, scheduling, data processing, and basic data transferAbility to manage competing priorities, multitask, and resolve scheduling conflicts with customersStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to obtain a DoD Secret clearancePreferred SkillsManual machining experienceExperience operating presses, shears, band saws, and grindersKnowledge of CAD/CAM tools such as CATIA and Creo/Pro-EG-code programming knowledgeKnowledge of GD&T and military specificationsAdvanced working knowledge of metals, layout, cutting, bending, and formingExperience supporting product development from concept design through fabricationWhat You'll DoSet up and operate CNC machines in support of prototype and development fabricationUse hand tools and shop equipment to fabricate aerospace-grade parts and assembliesSupport internal research and development projects and contracted programsRead and interpret mechanical drawings to complete fabrication tasksCoordinate requested work with the shop supervisor and internal customersReport job status and support shifting priorities in a fast-paced shop environmentSupport machining and fabrication activities across metal, mechanical assembly, and composite work
