General Utility/Hand Labor – 1st ShiftShift/Hours: Monday – Friday 5:00am – 1:30pmPay Rate: $15.00/hr.In General Utility at Pratt Industries – Hammond, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production machinery. This position involves a variety of tasks, including machine setup, operation, cleanup, and troubleshooting, with a focus on safety, meeting customer demand and maintaining high-quality standards. Active participation in meeting production schedules and resolving challenges proactively.Key Duties And Success FactorsSafety & Compliance: You must adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, ensure compliance with operational guidelines and OSHA regulationsQuality Assurance: Inspect products and materials to meet quality standards, follow proper procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in production, and identify and report any quality concerns. Operational Efficiency: Operate or learn to operate a variety of machinery including forklifts and production equipment. Monitor equipment performance, report malfunctions, and assist in setup/adjustments as well as routine maintenance of machines. Training & Development: Participate in periodic training sessions to enhance skills, stay updated on best practices for manufacturing operations, and apply learned skills to improve workplace productivity and efficiency.Reporting & Maintenance: Document operational data and report production progress, assist with troubleshooting minor mechanical issues, and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. Flexibility & Teamwork: Adapt to changes in work assignments, shifts, and production needs. Collaborate with coworkers to meeting production goals and willingly take on additional responsibilities as needed. Additional duties may be assigned by management.What You’ll Need To Be Successful Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred but not required.Skills: Ability to follow instructions under limited supervisionLoad and unload materials safely and efficiently Operator forklifts and other equipment as needed (Training Provided) Maintain a clean work environment by properly disposing of waste. Basic PC SkillsAbility to learn manufacturing principles and practicesPerforming basic mathematical calculations and read a tape measurePhysical Requirements: Standing, bending, and repetitive motions for extended periods.
