Embedded Device Lab Administrator
Overview
As Embedded Device Lab Administrator, you will lead the Sunnyvale embedded lab to enable secure, high-performance real-time middleware. You’ll bring up and maintain a lab supporting many architectures, integrate bootloaders and kernel builds, and work with OS/tool partners to resolve issues. You’ll help the platform team sustain high availability through automation and monitoring, while upgrading the lab and collaborating across IT and engineering. This role offers hands-on impact in a critical, distributed RTI platform team with a strong focus on scale and reliability.

ResponsibilitiesBring up and maintain the embedded lab at Sunnyvale HQConfigure bootloaders and build/configure embedded kernels across multiple RTOSIntegrate lab automation frameworks and work with OS/tools partners to resolve toolchain issuesSupport and debug platform-specific issues, including adjustments to embedded systemsEvolve automation infrastructure to improve lab operations and CI/CD processesEnsure high availability through lab monitoring and proactive upgradesPartner with IT and cross-department teams for seamless operations
Key requirementsExperience with hardware setup and embedded systemsExperience creating/configuring operating systems and kernels (e.g., QNX, VxWorks, Integrity, LynxOS) a plusSome experience with embedded systems (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ARM Linux)Strong Unix system administration skillsFamiliar with system generation/configuration (bootloaders, Yocto images, startup routines)Good grasp of Linux fundamentals and day-to-day operationsAbility to work in a highly distributed teamUS Person requirement (no visa sponsorship)ability to work in a distributed teamleadership in lab environmentscross-department collaborationHardware setupBootloader configurationKernel and OS customization (QNX, VxWorks, Integrity, LynxOS)
