DOT Software Developer
Savan is seeking a Software Developer to support a Department of Transportation (DoT) program by designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support federal mission and operational requirements. The Software Developer will collaborate with federal client stakeholders, business analysts, and delivery teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality applications. This role requires participation in client-facing technical discussions, design reviews, and program activities to ensure solutions align with government expectations and contractual requirements.Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and system componentsParticipate in technical design, architecture discussions, and solution reviewsWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented codeDevelop and consume APIs and integrate with external systemsParticipate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectivesCollaborate with business analysts, testers, and project managers to deliver solutionsSupport backlog refinement, estimation, and sprint executionPerform unit testing and support system and user acceptance testingResolve defects and performance issuesFollow secure coding standards and federal security requirementsSupport application enhancements, bug fixes, and production supportAssist with deployment and release activitiesContribute to technical documentation and knowledge transferQualifications & RequirementsRequired Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience6+ years of professional software development experienceExperience with modern programming languages and frameworksExperience with version control and CI/CD pipelinesStrong problem-solving and collaboration skillsU.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearancePreferred Experience supporting federal systems, including DoTExperience working in Agile development environmentsCloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Experience with databases, APIs, and web technologiesWork Location & Schedule Hybrid scheduleOn-site presence at Savan Headquarters (Vienna, VA), client site in Washington, DC, and remote work as appropriate.Application ProcessSubmit your application to the link on this page.
