Project Engineer

Payrate: $47.00 - $48.00/hr. Summary:We are seeking a professional to join the Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) Electrical Systems & Controls team. This role focuses on supporting large engine build and quality issues, improving part traceability, and driving Build in Quality (BIQ) initiatives. The ideal candidate will act as a key liaison between engineering and manufacturing, working closely with assembly teams to enhance build efficiency and product quality. ResponsibilitiesSupport resolution of engine build and quality-related issues on the shop floorServe as the primary liaison between engineering and manufacturing for BIQ initiativesImprove as-built part traceability and support continuous improvement effortsCollaborate with manufacturing engineering to enhance build efficiency and product qualityDocument product and assembly practices through direct interaction with assembly teams and on-site observationsParticipate in Pre-Delivery Audits and ensure compliance with quality standardsManage and track BIQ initiatives (CI Cards and ECRs), including closures through engineering changesSupport offshore engineering teams by providing shop floor insights and dataCoordinate with designers and detailers to implement engineering updates QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural Engineering, or related field (required)3 years of engine design or related experience (internships considered)Master’s degree with ~3 years of experience also acceptable Desired SkillsElectrical Design KnowledgeElectrical TroubleshootingSelf-Starter / Proactive MindsetAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, prints, and schematicsStrong organizational and prioritization skillsSelf-motivated with a strong sense of urgencyUnderstanding of engines or electrical systems2-3 years of industry or relevant military experienceExperience with Creo and TeamcenterStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively with assembly (hourly) teamsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teamsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $47.00 - $48.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
