Occupational Therapist- Full-TimeLocation: Kelso, WA, 98626Responsibilities:Organize and conduct an identification program for occupational therapy services.Consult with parents, staff, and administration regarding student needs.Select and employ appropriate diagnostic procedures and develop guidelines for a comprehensive program.Prepare IEP goals and objectives and maintain progress data.Understand and comply with current legislation on children with disabilities.Complete all required reports and records in a timely and accurate manner.Provide supervision to certified occupational therapy assistants and District motor team assistants.Provide occupational therapy services in the classroom and individual settings.Consult with school staff on appropriate practices for students with disabilities.Function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and as a member of a team providing motor services to students with disabilities.Follow Code of Ethics and maintain a high standard of professional behavior.Qualifications:Possession or eligibility for Washington State E.S.A. Occupational Therapist Certificate.State licensure as an occupational therapist.Experience in identifying students with exceptional needs.Ability to maintain individual case records according to law.Ability to work directly with Special Education personnel, parents and school staff when developing individual educational programs.Ability to conduct appropriate testing, diagnosis and evaluation activities of students with disabilities.Knowledge of child development.Awareness and appreciation of diversity among individual students.Successful therapy experience in an educational setting is preferred.Willingness to participate in professional development activities to upgrade professional skills.Ability to direct, supervise and evaluate students.Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel between buildings.Knowledge of state and federal legislation for disabilities (WAC 392-172A, IDEA '04, Section 504, etc).
