🔧 MechanicLocation: Royal Waste-Jamaica or our Bronx LocationSchedule: Monday through Friday, with alternating Saturdays as neededHours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PMRate: $30–$40/hr, depending on experienceEmployment Type: Full-timeRoyal Waste is seeking a dedicated and skilled Mechanic to join our growing maintenance team. We're looking for individuals who prioritize safety, take pride in their work, and understand how critical their role is to supporting our drivers and the service we provide to the community.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections, repairs, and diagnostics on diesel vehicles, including electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systemsInterpret vehicle computer system failure codes and make necessary adjustments to engine and vehicle control modulesReview and complete repairs noted on Driver Vehicle Inspection ReportsAccurately document services using fleet maintenance softwareConduct post-service test drives to ensure safety and performanceCollaborate with teammates on complex repairsMaintain professional, courteous communication with drivers and team membersKeep workspaces clean and compliant with OSHA standardsPerform other job-related duties as assigned What We're Looking ForMinimum 5 years of mechanic experience, preferably with diesel trucksStrong skills in electrical and hydraulic systemsWell-rounded experience in mechanical and welding repairsFamiliarity with diesel vehicle diagnostics and preventative maintenanceBasic tool set requiredValid CDL Class B or A license, not required but a big plusAbility to work independently within a shop environmentCommitment to safety, quality, and teamworkWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation401(k) with company matchMedical, dental, and vision coverageLife insurance and short-term/long-term disabilityEmployee Assistance Mental Health ProgramEmergency Travel Assistance & Prepaid Legal PlanEmployee Stock Purchase Plan & Employee Relief FundScholarship opportunities for employees’ childrenWaste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
