If you see it as profit engineering, keep reading.The RoleAs a Retention Strategist, you own the lifecycle strategy for a portfolio of 6-8 DTC brands. You're not just sending campaigns -you're diagnosing account health, identifying revenue opportunities, building the roadmap, and holding the client relationship.You'll have a dedicated pod supporting you: an email specialist who handles Klaviyo execution and a visual creator who brings your briefs to life. Your job is to think clearly, prioritize ruthlessly, and drive meaningful growth for your brands.What You'll Be DoingOwn the retention strategy across your client portfolio - flows, campaigns, segmentation, SMS, and lifecycle healthUse data to identify the highest-leverage opportunities in each account and build a clear plan to capture themBrief and direct your pod (email specialist + designer) so execution runs without you being in the weedsLead client relationships - monthly reporting, strategy presentations, and hard conversations when performance dipsThink beyond in-platform metrics - connect your work to LTV, repeat purchase rate, CAC payback, and contribution marginCollaborate cross-functionally with paid social and Google pods on multi-channel clientsStay ahead of platform changes, emerging tools, and what's working across the DTC retention spaceRequirements2+ years of hands-on Klaviyo experience managing DTC eCommerce accounts - flows, campaigns, segmentation, and deliverabilityProven track record of driving measurable retention results for real brands - you speak in outcomes, not activitiesStrong commercial instinct - you think in revenue and profit, not just open rates and click-throughsClient-facing experience - you're comfortable owning the relationship, presenting strategy, and navigating difficult conversationsExperience managing or directing a small team or podStrong project management skills - you stay ahead of deadlines and don't wait to be chasedExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSMS experience via Klaviyo or Postscript is a strong plusFamiliarity with analytics tools beyond Klaviyo - Hiro Analytics, Triple Whale, or similar is a bonusA 2-minute intro video is required to be considered - applications without one will not be reviewedBenefitsBase salary $75,000–$95,000 depending on experienceA dedicated execution pod so you can stay focused on strategyAccess to industry-leading tools including Klaviyo, Hiro Analytics, Maverick, Alia, and PostPilotMonthly training and account reviews with top DTC marketers and retention practitionersReal upward mobility - we promote from within and are actively building this departmentWork across a diverse portfolio of established DTC brands in fashion, health & fitness, jewelry, beauty, and moreA tight-knit team of eCommerce marketers and entrepreneurs - many of whom have owned, run, and exited their own venturesA culture built on Kaizen, openness and candor, and genuine client-first thinking
