Job Title: Software Architect / Lead Software Engineer – Semiconductor EquipmentLocation: Based in Singapore or Shenzhen, ChinaAbout the RoleWe are looking for a Software Architect / Lead Software Engineer to join our semiconductor equipment R&D team. In this role, you will lead the architecture, development, and integration of complex software systems for cutting-edge inspection and metrology equipment. You will work at the intersection of real-time control, HPC, and AI/ML, driving innovation from concept to production.What You'll Do 🚀🏗️ Software Architecture & System DesignLead architecture design for complex software systems (equipment control, real-time, distributed systems)Translate system-level requirements into clear software specifications and executable codeDesign full-stack architecture from FPGA/PLC to HMI, ensuring seamless layer integrationConduct timing/workflow analysis to meet stringent real-time requirements; use UML for modeling💻 Software Development & ImplementationDevelop high-performance, high-reliability software using C#, C/C++, Python across device control, data acquisition, image processing, and algorithm integrationBuild multi-threaded control software handling complex hardware interfaces and protocols (TCP/IP, EtherCAT, PROFINET)Design SEMI-compliant HMI for operators, engineers, and scientistsWrite clean, testable, production-grade code following OOP principles⚡ HPC & AI/ML IntegrationDevelop software infrastructure for HPC systems and distributed applicationsIntegrate AI/ML/DL algorithms into equipment control softwareOptimize performance using parallel programming (MPI, OPENMP, CUDA)Develop image processing and data analysis algorithms for inspection/metrology applications🔧 System Integration & DebuggingCollaborate with hardware, algorithm, and system engineers on integration and debuggingLead root cause analysis and resolve system-level software issues using diagnostic toolsOwn software test specifications; execute unit and integration testsSupport cleanroom integration and on-site customer installation/debugging👥 Technical Leadership & MentoringProvide hands-on technical leadership for a 5-10 person engineering teamParticipate in Scrum; lead sprint planning, design reviews, code reviews, and refactoringChampion design excellence – reusability, modularity, simplicity, maintainabilityWhat You'll Bring 🎯Education & ExperienceMaster's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, EE, Physics, Math, or related field8+ years of software development experience in semiconductor equipment or high-end industrial systemsComplete project experience from architecture design to production deployment5+ years of OOP experience; proficient in UML modelingExperience with hard/soft real-time systems and distributed control architecture3+ years of technical team or project management experience (semiconductor industry preferred)Technical SkillsDeep understanding of software architecture & design patterns; experience architecting large-scale complex systemsProficient in C#/C++; familiar with .NET/WPF, LINQ, multi-threadingKnowledge of HPC components (CPU/GPU architecture, distributed storage, high-bandwidth interconnects, cloud)Mastery of parallel programming (MPI, OPENMP, CUDA) and containerization (Docker)Experience with semiconductor equipment control software; familiar with SEMI standards (SECS/GEM, E95, etc.)Familiar with communication protocols (TCP/IP, EtherCAT, PROFINET) and hardware interface programmingSoft SkillsFull software product lifecycle experience from concept to deploymentStrong debugging and performance optimization skillsStructured problem-solving with data-driven decision makingExcellent cross-functional collaboration and communicationSelf-motivated with strong curiosity; ability to turn prototypes into production-grade codeNice to Have ✨Semiconductor inspection, metrology, or lithography equipment software experienceHPC distributed infrastructure architecture & developmentAI/ML/DL algorithm integration and application developmentImage processing, computer vision, or computational geometry algorithm developmentFPGA/PLC programming (VHDL or related)Semiconductor data formats (GDS, OASIS, KLARF, etc.) and EDA softwareEquipment automation & factory automation (CIM, MES) integrationCloud computing, big data analytics, microservices architectureMulti-site, global team collaboration experienceWhy Join Us?💡 Work on state-of-the-art semiconductor equipment that drives the future of chip manufacturing🌏 Global team with locations in Singapore and Shenzhen🚀 Hands-on technical leadership role with significant impact📈 Opportunity to grow with a fast-paced, technology-driven organizationApply NowIf you are passionate about building high-performance software for complex semiconductor systems, we want to hear from you.
