Director of Operations
POSITION SUMMARY:
The position of Director of Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the organization’s operational activities and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of products and services. This position will collaborate with various departments to develop and implement strategic initiatives, optimize processes and drive the overall operational excellence.
Projects will be focused on improving cost savings and effective processes in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. This position will recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls and will coordinate the manufacturing launch for new or revised products. This position will also ensure the timely completion and delivery of products according to preset customer agreements by working with the appropriate departments.
Also, this position will be responsible for facility related responsibilities, including managing the design, planning, construction/modification and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and buildings across Serva’s locations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Research, design, and implement operational policies and procedures.
Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
Work with VP of Finance and department heads to develop and execute on financial and strategic plans
Manage resource allocation of Procurement and Operations
Perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
Work with HR to create job descriptions, oversee employment training programs, hire competent personnel, and develop staff evaluation parameters
Work with Safety, HR, and QC Managers to support all quality, safety, housekeeping programs, standards, and systems.
Work with QC Manager to prepare for audits, address non‐conformities from previous internal and external audits, investigate and determine the cause of faulty work and consult and advise as to corrective measures.
Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services, and facility expansion
Assists in the planning budgeting and scheduling of facility modifications, including cost estimates
Perform other related duties as required.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Strong knowledge and understanding of manufacturing techniques, processes and procedures.
Effective oral and written communication skills both up and down throughout the company.
Solid analytical and strategic planning skills.
Proficient in problem analysis and resolution.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Strong team builder and player.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or combination of education and five to ten years related experience in
manufacturing.
Five years or more high‐level experience in a management position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes and other mandatory safety equipment.
For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.
Travel will be required for this position on an as needed basis to facilities in North America and periodically other countries, including China.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sitting or standing as needed.
Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
Reaching, pushing, pulling or lifting as required within limits set by Serva Group.
