Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.Design, configuration, integration and implementation of process control solutionsModify, test, implement, and document PLC and HMI software improvement changesComplete A-3's and other problem-solving activities to determine root cause of existing issues associated with automated production processes. Proactively utilizes data such as down time, work orders, and tooling/repair expenses to identify areas in need of improvementDevelop and implement project plans to include estimate of all timelines and expenses to complete projects. Monitors project progress, reports variances, resolves issues to maintain scheduled project deliverablesModify, test, implement and document changes to control systemsTroubleshoot non-functioning parts, calibrate devices and correct errors in the automation software to ensure safety and proper function of existing automated systems. Provides support to maintenance in ensuring appropriate problem resolutionTrain operators, Team Leaders, maintenance and other parties on control systemsProvides support to Process Engineering and Automation Technician-Engineering in other projects which involve automationReview and repairs legacy code. Assists in establishing new and maintaining existing standardsPerform other duties as requiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES1-3 years' experience in the automation industryExperience with Programming Logic ControllersProven ability to configure and modify HMI/OIT systemsWorking knowledge of industry standards, vision systems, motion controllers and actuatorsExperience and skill in troubleshooting control system issuesAbility to establish and maintain effective work relationshipsAbility to work effectively in independent situations and exercise good judgment to reach sound conclusionsExcellent written and oral communication skills, to include technical writingProven ability to prioritize, work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlinesProven critical thinker and innovative problem solverMust be organized, detail oriented and able to think designs through completelyAbility to use Kanban workflow for understanding optimal build performanceAbility to follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures, etc.Ability to read, interpret and perform from various documents, including method sheets, assembly drawings, production reports, safety rules, blueprints, printed shop schedules, KanBan cards/boards, operating maintenance instruction and procedure manuals, etc.Ability to properly identify components and gain extensive parts knowledgeHands-on knowledge of manufacturing machineryAdvanced math and computer skillsMust be proficient in the following disciplines:Software applicationsServers and PCsIP Addresses and SubnetMassElectronicProgramming and documentation of PLCs/Panel ViewModification of control circuitsAll electronic machine control componentsAnalog and digital instrumentationComponents, controls, program, and setup of robotic and motion systemsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to demonstrate manual dexterity; ability to repetitively use fingers and hands to feel, handle, or squeeze; reach with hands and arms; twist/turn body; perform repetitive motionsAbility to stand, walk, and/or sit, frequently and for extended periods of timeAbility to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawlMECHANICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to use hand or power toolsAbility to use robotics systems technologyAbility to use two hand palm buttonsAbility to use testing equipmentENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTSExposure to various chemicals including greases, oils, and adhesives in safe exposure amounts and approved for use in our facility by EHSExposure to temperature changesExposure to moderate noise levels with intermittent loud noisesExposure to vibrationExposure to dirt and/or dustExposure to sharp objects and partsExposure to moving mechanical parts, protected by approved guarding and controlsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEMinimum requirements:High school diploma or GED1-3 years' experience in manufacturing automation industryPreferred requirements:2 year Associates degree in automation technology or similar technology degreeAutomation Professional CertificateCOMPENSATIONThis range is provided by Allegion.
