Supervisor, Maintenance
Primary Purpose: Responsible for the daily supervision of maintenance technicians to ensure the district facilities in assigned area are well maintained. Key roles include supervision, daily quality assurance inspections, assigning work orders and communicating with campus personnel.RESPONSIBILITIES:Major Responsibilities and DutiesReport to work according to District Policy, Administration Guidelines, Employee Handbook/Supplement and assigned work schedule.Supervise and direct the work of maintenance technicians.Receive and complete work orders.Perform general building maintenance and construction related duties as required.Assign work orders to maintenance technicians.Assist with planning/scheduling projects as needed.Maintain accurate records.Perform daily walkthrough inspections of facilities.Detect needed repairs to buildings, grounds and equipment and submit work requests.Perform quality control inspections on work completed by technicians.Adjust schedule to meet work load demands.Attend training classes and seminars as directed.Demonstrate ability to meet and work with people in a positive and helpful manner.Respond to emergency calls as needed.Attendance at work is an essential function.Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:Supervise maintenance technicians EXPERIENCE: Minimum Experience:Five years of maintenance supervisory experience QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education/Certification:High School Diploma or G.E.D.Trade License as required by state or local authorities; preferredValid Texas Driver's LicenseEligible for coverage under the district's vehicle insurance programSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilitiesKnowledge of routine maintenance and repair proceduresKnowledge of state and local building codesKnowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management SystemsAbility to use a computer and other electronic devicesAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writingAnalytical and problem solving abilitiesAbility to read and understand instructions for maintenance and safety proceduresAbility to read schematics, blueprints, or other work plansAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to operate hand and power toolsAbility to work independently OTHER INFORMATION: Working Conditions: Mental/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress; frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling; move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment.
