About our client: Our client is a leading systems integrator specializing in metals processing, scrap recycling, and industrial automation. We design and deliver custom-engineered solutions for material recovery, dust collection, and waste management. Our team works across industries to solve complex mechanical and industrial challenges with innovative system designs. Position Summary: The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and components for custom recycling and processing equipment. This role is hands-on and requires strong expertise in mechanical design, fabrication, and system integration, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Design custom mechanical systems using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Vault. Develop detailed fabrication and assembly drawings, BOMs, and layout plans. Collaborate with sales, electrical, and project teams to meet performance, cost, and schedule requirements. Provide engineering support during fabrication, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Analyze and improve mechanical performance, safety, and durability of equipment. Perform field assessments, gather measurements, and develop retrofit or upgrade plans. Work with vendors and fabricators to specify materials, components, and processes. Support site acceptance testing (SAT), FAT, and commissioning documentation. Adhere to client quality and safety standards in all engineering activities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field. 5+ years of mechanical design or industrial equipment experience (recycling, manufacturing, or heavy industry preferred). Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Vault. Strong understanding of mechanical fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, and material flow systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics. Familiarity with ANSI/NFPA standards and OSHA safety requirements. Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills. Willingness to travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and support. Preferred Skills: Experience with dust collection systems, shredders, separators, conveyors, or other material handling equipment. Understanding of PLC/HMI-controlled systems and mechanical–electrical integration. Hands-on experience with equipment troubleshooting or field service support.
