Process Engineer
Job Description: The Process Engineer supports the production of existing and new products.This includes optimization, process improvements, supporting innovation (scaling, changes), and is a key knowledge holder of our production processes.Responsibilities: Responsible for developing and owning the mass and energy balance for the processesProvide technical proficiency in the processes to collaborate with the Client team and customers to provide new ingredients according to market demandsBuild and maintain technical documentation for processExperience with sustainability, especially with energy savings and process optimization.Support toll manufacturing activitiesLead continuous improvement efforts through statistical analysis and Lean concepts including:Identify production rate improvement opportunitiesOptimize the production process for existing products with focus on OEEReduction of processing cost through yield improvement and new raw materials sourcesResponsible for maintaining and developing the process control variables and troubleshooting guides as well as tracking performance data and drive improvements in KPI'sResponsible for periodic training of operations team on process control system and fundamental theory of the processLead and participate in teams to troubleshoot significant processing challengesExecution of smaller capex projectsSupport innovation in scale-up and implementation of new products from pilot to commercial scale process and new process technologiesResponsible for ensuring employees comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and the Food Safety Plan as well as report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate actionParticipate in the Client safety program including but not limited to attending weekly, monthly, and annual safety trainingRequirements: Preferred 2+ years of experience in industrial wet processes, yeast extract, and spray-drying processesExcellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skillsAble to think strategically and globally when faced with complex processesDemonstrates strong organizational and project management skillsTeam focused approach to problem-solvingEducation: Bachelor's degree in chemical, bioprocessing/bioproducts, food engineering, or related area
