Deliver Meals to Older Adults in Stillwater!
Volunteering with Optage Meals is a great opportunity to directly help older individuals in your community. Our volunteers deliver much more than a meal—they bring warm smiles and much-needed safety checks to seniors and adults with disabilities. As a driver, you will make valued connections with your neighbors and help them remain independent in their own homes. Volunteers are invited to bring their spouse, children, or grandchildren in the car with them!Essential Duties:Deliver meals to the homes of clientsFollow delivery route instructionsChat with clients and put their meals in their freezer if they need additional helpReport back to the primary Optage driver or the volunteer coordinator if you have concerns about clientsMaintain a respectful relationship with clients, staff, and volunteersMaintain confidentiality of client records and personal informationMinimum Qualifications:Access to your own vehicleValid driver's licenseValid proof of insuranceAbility to pass a background checkReliable in all weather conditionsAbility to lift 15-30lb delivery bags into your vehicle and up occasional flights of stairsLocation and Time Commitment:Each route starts on Tuesday mornings and takes between 1-2 hours to complete. You will meet an Optage Meals driver at Oakridge Church in Stillwater to pick up the meals and will return to Oakridge Church to drop off your cooler bags. If you are not located in the Stillwater area, we may have an open route in a different area of the Twin Cities that you would be a good fit for.
