The department works with students and families to provide guidance on financial procedures and compliance with federal and institutional requirements.Job DescriptionThe Senior Assistant Director of Financial Aid & Data Systems assists in the leadership and management of Student Financial Services (SFS) and reports directly to the Senior Director. This position provides operational, compliance, and systems leadership for financial aid within an integrated, student-centered SFS model that emphasizes a one-stop, cross-trained service environment. The role supports accurate, timely service delivery while ensuring regulatory compliance and effective use of technology to support student success.Primary Responsibilities:Operations & Service DeliveryAssist in managing daily SFS financial aid operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of information and services to students, families, and the campus communitySupport the integrated SFS service model by promoting consistent service standards, cross-functional workflows, and shared responsibility for student case resolutionOversee key financial aid processes, including packaging, federal verification, institutional scholarship awarding, state aid, private scholarships, NCAA reporting, work-study, and private and parent PLUS loansCompliance & ReportingCollaborate with the Senior Director to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulationsDevelop, document, and implement policies and procedures; provide procedural guidance to professional and administrative staffAssist with audits and required reporting; serve as institutional contact for COD and act as Secondary Destination Point Administrator (DPA)Serve as lead financial aid administrator in the absence of the Senior DirectorSystems & Data LeadershipServe as the financial aid functional lead for the PeopleSoft SIS, managing automation, packaging, testing, and implementation of new functionalityBuild and maintain PeopleSoft queries, automated processes, and inbound/outbound data integrationsCoordinate data integrity efforts with Admissions, Registrar, Enterprise Applications Services (EAS), and imaging/workflow partnersLead software maintenance, implementation, and staff training related to financial aid technologiesCRM & CommunicationsOversee financial aid technical functionality within the Slate CRM in collaboration with the Senior Assistant Director of Financial Aid & OutreachSupport reporting, data maintenance, and targeted financial aid communications that align with recruitment and enrollment goalsStaff LeadershipSupervise and lead an operations team of four full-time staff within a cross-trained, student-focused SFS environmentPromote staff development, consistency, and continuous improvementPerform related duties as assigned ShiftMonday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some Saturdays-events.Minimum QualificationsA Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessaryPreferred QualificationsDegree in business administration, student personnel services, information technology, or a related areaExperience of leadership skills working with professional and office support staff, excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, interacting professionally with diverse personalities and excellent verbal and written communication skills are requestedThe successful candidate should demonstrate a strong working knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations, strong interpersonal presentation skills; self-starter; able to work with minimum supervision when required; strong attention to detail; exceptional customer service and interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation); knowledge of PeopleSoft, Slate and the Microsoft Office Suite a strong plusAnticipated Hiring RangeThe anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $59,738-$61,566.60 annually.Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
