Role SnapshotBe the go-to expert for pinpointing faults, executing quality repairs, and keeping commercial vehicles road-ready. You’ll combine technical precision with strong documentation and strict adherence to regulatory and company standards.What You’ll Tackle Diagnostics & RepairDiagnose and fix issues across: steering, electrical, cooling, lubrication, braking, drivetrains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions, and oil/temperature/fuel regulation components—within your qualification level and applicable regulations.Support Tech I teammates on engine, transmission, and differential rebuilds as assigned.Perform test drives during Preventative Maintenance to validate driver concerns and post-repair to verify results.Operations & QualityArrange required inspections and secure approvals for all major repairs before a vehicle leaves the shop.Identify and report additional maintenance needs, including those needing a higher-qualification technician.Complete assigned tasks under the direction of a manager or lead.Document labor time, parts consumption, and all work performed on designated forms.Field Service & SafetyRespond to road calls and conduct on-the-road repairs as assigned.Maintain a safe, clean, efficient workspace compliant with federal, state/provincial, and local requirements and company housekeeping/safety policies.Alert the Lead Technician to any unsafe maintenance conditions or vehicle abuse.Support AM/PM coverage and overtime as needed.Required Background2–4 years of medium/heavy truck fleet mechanic experience.Advanced diagnostic ability; strong electrical and A/C skill set.Comprehensive knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment.Previous fleet exposure with diesel and gasoline platforms.Personal set of recommended hand tools for Medium & Heavy Duty diesel work.Demonstrated judgment and solid decision-making.Valid CDL (or ability to secure within 90 days of employment).ASE certifications in brakes, suspension, engine, electrical, and A/C—or Master School Bus/Master Truck Technician.You should be proficient in: Current CDL License
