Are you passionate about creating safer work environments and driving meaningful environmental and safety improvements? As an EHS Specialist, you’ll play a key role in shaping and supporting a proactive safety culture at our CPP Minneapolis (Bloomington) facility. In this role, you’ll partner across departments to implement programs that protect employees, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen our environmental stewardship. Your work will directly influence workplace safety, operational excellence, and employee well-being every day.
What You’ll Do
Lead compliance and safety excellence
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations
Support audits, inspections, permits, and regulatory reporting activities
Drive a strong safety culture
Partner with leaders and plant personnel to improve safety programs, processes, and procedures
Promote behaviors that prevent injuries, incidents, and occupational illness
Participate in and help coordinate site Safety Committee initiatives
Identify risks—and solve them
Conduct routine facility inspections and hazard assessments
Investigate incidents and perform root-cause analysis
Implement corrective and preventive actions that strengthen workplace safety
Train and empower employees
Deliver safety training programs and maintain training documentation
Support hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and related health & safety programs
Support environmental responsibility
Assist with environmental reporting and documentation
Help manage waste streams and recycling programs
Partner with Facilities & Maintenance on permits and compliance activities
Be a trusted safety partner across the plant
Escort inspectors and support regulatory visits
Maintain fire protection and suppression inspection programs
Support special projects that improve safety performance and operational readiness
This position works on site at our Bloomington facility and plays a visible, hands-on role across operations.
What You’ll Bring
Education
Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field
Experience
4+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
Knowledge & Skills
Working knowledge of OSHA, environmental, and transportation regulations
Strong communication skills across all organizational levels
Ability to influence safety behaviors and partner through complex situations
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
