DescriptionThe Benefits and Advocacy Casework Associate plays a key role in delivering compassionate and comprehensive assistance to Holocaust Survivors enrolled in JCCGCI's HSSS Programs, helping them access critical government benefits and services.Job Responsibilities:Carry caseload of clients in need of assistance accessing government benefits including but not limited to Medicaid applications, Medicaid re-certifications, homecare service requests and Medicare CHHA referrals.Assessment of clients' needs for benefit or homecare assistance through in-home and telephonic consultation, as applicable. Collaboration with family members to assist with the evaluation process. Assist with completion of JCCGCI and funder required client intake certification documentation, as applicable.Assist clients with preparing and submitting Medicaid applications and all relevant medical, insurance and homecare forms, in a timely fashion; follow up regularly.Provide education and guidance around appeals process; file appeals on behalf of clients as needed; assist clients/families homecare fair hearing preparation; represent clients at fair hearings on a case by case basis.Assist with other government benefits related applications and benefits advocacy based on referrals received.Liaison with hospitals and rehabs to facilitate referrals to CHHA agencies.Maintain ongoing contact with clients on caseload; place check in and follow up calls to offer ongoing assistance and assess for changes in care or care needs.Document all encounters in JCCGCI's database in a timely fashion.Engage in outreach and attend community events as needed.Assist with special projects as needed.Participate in staff meetings and trainings as required.Additional duties, as assigned.Job Requirements:BA in Social Science/Human Service related field preferred.Prior social service or advocacy experience preferred.Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills.Accurate data entry and typing skills.Ability to work independently and seek guidance as appropriate.Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate documentation.Bilingual Russian preferred.This position is Part-Time, 15 hours per weekThis role is in-office and in-fieldPay: $23-$25 per hour
