CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Construction ManagerBristol Infrastructure Designs Services, LLC is seeking a qualified Construction Manager (CM) to help support the Navy mission (NAVFAC MID-LANT) located in Hampton Roads, VA. The CM will provide technical services and expertise related to all phases of construction on a variety of projects within the AOR.The Construction Manager will:Professionally communicate NAVFAC requirements and positions and engage at multiple levels of authority to obtain decisive action from all affected parties, including the Construction Contractor, Supported Commands, and other Agencies.Review pre-final contract drawings and specifications with respect to constructability and compatibility with actual field conditions.Participate in pre-award contract meetings, such as Functional Analysis Concept Development (FACDs) meetings and constructability reviews.Coordinate post-award contract meetings, such as post-award kickoff meetings, preconstruction conferences, partnering meetings, schedule acceptance meeting, design review meetings, LEED coordination meetings, Facility Turnover Planning Meetings, and final inspections.Review contractor administrative submittals and coordinate review and recommend approval or rejection of technical "Government-approved" submittals.Visit construction sites to monitor progress and recommend necessary actions to assure contractor's quality control program is provided in accordance with the contract requirements.Provide technical solutions to unforeseen problems during construction.Provide project status updates to senior Government personnel within the field office.Prepare property record inventory documents for Government Project Manager.Complete required items to assist in effectively closing out a contract.Keep the Government sponsor advised as to the status of projects.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of the overall supervision of construction operations.Knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to construction.Tactfully and professionally communicate NAVFAC requirements and positions and engage at multiple levels of authority to obtain decisive action from all affected parties.Job Qualifications and Skills: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) / Registered Architect (RA) is highly desirable, but not required. It is expected that the minimum education and professional experience requirements have been met, as listed below.Experience:A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Construction Manager, Project Manager, Field Engineer or Quality Control Manager on commercial/industrial type facilities, utility or waterfront-related contracts valued in excess of $5 million.Sound understanding of the overall supervision of construction operations.Sound understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to construction.Education:High school diploma or GED is required.Degree in engineering from a four-year accredited Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) university or an architecture degree from a National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) accredited university or a degree in construction management or engineering technology degree from a four-year Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) university is required.Benefits:Excellent salary and benefits package to include paid time off, paid holidays, comprehensive health insurance plan including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability insurance; 401(k) plan with employer match.Contingency:Employment is contingent upon passing security clearance, background check and drug screening.Equal Opportunity Employer Statement:Bristol companies are equal opportunity employers and offer any available positions to all, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, parenthood, pregnancy, marital status or changes in marital status, in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
