Marching Band - Percussion Instructor

Closing Date: When position is filled. Kent City Schools is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Percussion Instructor for the 2026 marching band season. The position begins August 4 and continues through the end of October. The Percussion Instructor will work with high school students in the battery and front ensemble, providing instruction in fundamental playing techniques, movement, and performance preparation. Additional responsibilities include assisting with percussion equipment maintenance and supporting the overall success of the marching band program. The anticipated time commitment is approximately 6-9 hours per week and includes rehearsals, percussion sectionals, and performances. QualificationsExhibits a passion for music.Proficiency in playing and instructing others to play percussion instruments.Minimum 2 years of music instruction experience is preferred. Past participation in collegemarching band or drum corps is desired.Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.Successful BCI/FBI background checks The Board reserves the right to fill or not fill the position as posted, or to partially fill the position.
