The SLPA will work under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). The SLPA will assist in treatment planning and ongoing management of patients receiving Speech Therapy. The SLPA will also implement treatment plans for patients who have been evaluated by the Speech Language Pathologist.Primary Responsibilities50% Assist speech-language pathologists in the assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognitive and voice disorders. Implement speech and language programs or activities as planned and directed by speech-language pathologistsAssist speech-language pathologists in the conduct of client screenings or assessments of language, voice, fluency, articulation, or hearingImplement treatment plans or protocols as directed by speech-language pathologistsAssist speech-language pathologists in the remediation or development of speech and language skillsCollect and compile data to document clients' performance or assess program qualityDocument clients' progress toward meeting established treatment objectivesTest or maintain equipment to ensure correct performanceAssist speech-language pathologists in the conduct of speech-language research projectsConduct in-service training sessions, or family and community education programsPerform support duties such as preparing materials, keeping records, maintaining supplies, and scheduling activitiesPrepare charts, graphs, or other visual displays to communicate clients' performance information40% Assist the speech-language pathologists during assessment of students, patients, and clients exclusive of administration and/or interpretationFollow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLPDocument student, patient, and client performance (e.g., tallying data for the SLP to use; preparing charts, records, and graphs) and report this information to the supervising SLPDemonstrate or share information with patients, families, and staff regarding feeding strategies developed and directed by the SLP10% Assist with clerical duties, such as preparing materials and scheduling activities, as directed by the SLPPerform checks and maintenance of equipmentAssist with departmental operations (scheduling, recordkeeping, safety/maintenance of supplies and equipment)You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited Speech programCurrent Texas licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant by the Texas Board of Speech Pathology and Hearing Examiners or be an eligible candidateProven Speech Language Pathology fieldProven excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teamsPreferred Qualifications1+ years in the Speech Language Pathology fieldBilingual English/SpanishWillingness to cover two locations/clinicsPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 to $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment.
