Professionals joining A3 Engineering can expect a collaborative environment with opportunities to lead, mentor, and impact complex projects.Role Description As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will oversee electrical design and engineering for building and infrastructure projects, ensuring technical quality, code compliance, and alignment with client requirements. In this full-time hybrid role based in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, you will split your time between on-site project and team collaboration and working from home for focused design and documentation tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading electrical system design, preparing calculations, drawings, and specifications, and reviewing work produced by junior engineers and designers. You will coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and construction teams, participate in client meetings, and provide technical guidance throughout all project phases. The Lead Electrical Engineer will also support project planning, contribute to proposals, and help establish and maintain firm-wide electrical design standards and best practices.QualificationsStrong proficiency in core electrical engineering principles, including Electrical Engineering within the built environment, with the ability to apply them to building systems and infrastructure.Hands-on experience in Electrical Design for commercial, institutional, or industrial facilities, including construction documents, specifications, and coordination with other disciplines.Demonstrated expertise in Power Distribution and Power Systems, including load calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, and system protection strategies.Proficiency with relevant design and analysis tools (e.g., Revit, SKM, Visual and similar power system software, lighting calculation tools).Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering in California (or NCEES record) is required.Experience leading project teams, mentoring junior staff, and managing multiple projects and deadlines in a consulting or design firm environment is desired.Thorough knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, energy codes, local building codes) and familiarity with permitting processes in the Los Angeles area is a plus.Strong written and verbal communication skills is required.
