Many of our current students are children of former Penn students, and families often describe the campus as close-knit, welcoming, and rooted in tradition.Teachers at Penn join a team that values collaboration, high expectations, and a shared commitment to doing whatever it takes for kids.Position SummaryThe Fifth Grade Math Teacher at Penn Elementary is responsible for delivering rigorous, standards-aligned mathematics instruction that builds strong conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills. This role is ideal for an educator who values collaboration, embraces instructional coaching as a tool for growth, and holds high expectations for all students while cultivating a positive, engaging classroom environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver high-quality, engaging math instruction aligned to Oklahoma Academic StandardsActively participate in Santa Fe South's instructional coaching model by seeking, receiving, and implementing feedback to continuously strengthen practicePlan and internalize lessons with fidelity, including preparing materials, anticipating misconceptions, and rehearsing instructional strategiesCollaborate closely with grade-level teams, content teams, instructional coaches, and campus leadership to analyze data and student workUse formative and summative data to plan targeted instruction, interventions, and enrichmentEstablish a structured, joyful, and inclusive classroom culture with clear academic and behavioral expectationsBuild strong, respectful relationships with students, families, and colleaguesMonitor and communicate student progress regularly with familiesContribute to campus-wide initiatives, professional learning communities, and the continued growth of Penn Elementary QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institutionStrong alignment with Santa Fe South's mission and commitment to serving the southside communityPreferred:Experience teaching mathematics in grades 3-6Strong understanding of evidence-based math instruction and interventionsExperience working in diverse or high-need school communitiesDemonstrated openness to feedback and a growth-oriented mindsetOklahoma teaching certification (or willingness/eligibility to obtain) in Elementary Education or Mathematics Preferred CharacteristicsSuccessful candidates will demonstrate:Belief in the mission of Santa Fe South and the potential of every child.Strong instructional planning and delivery.Ability to build relationships with students, families, and colleagues.Willingness to seek feedback and continuously improve.Commitment to measurable student achievement.
