Autonomous Driving Intern
Company Description Warp is an open source freight network that connects shippers, carriers, and cross docks into a single technology-powered system for LTL, FTL, box truck, and cargo van freight. Using software, AI, pooled capacity, and more than 50 cross docks, Warp optimizes freight movement across the middle mile as well as inbound and last mile segments. As shipment volume increases along shared lanes, Warp lowers the cost per pallet and returns those savings to the shippers who help create the freight density. The network currently supports over 1,500 active lanes, more than 20,000 vetted carriers, real-time visibility, and above 98 percent on-time delivery nationwide. Shippers can book freight through a dashboard, API, or directly via an AI agent, enabling flexible and modern logistics workflows.Warp is hiring an Autonomous Vehicle Engineering Intern in Los Angeles to help build and deploy autonomous vehicle systems for real world transportation.This role is focused specifically on autonomous vehicles and will work closely with our warehouse automation team as we connect autonomous movement across vehicles, facilities, and physical operations.You’ll work on:• ROS 2 and Autoware• Vehicle localization and mapping• Camera, lidar, radar, GPS and IMU integration• Perception and obstacle detection• Motion planning and vehicle controls• CAN bus and drive by wire vehicle interfaces• NVIDIA autonomous vehicle compute• Simulation, replay and real world vehicle testing• Safety systems, emergency stops and failure handling• Integration between autonomous vehicles, warehouse automation and Warp’s softwareThis isn’t a research only internship. You’ll work with actual vehicles and physical infrastructure, with the goal of getting autonomous systems operating reliably in the real world.You’re probably a fit if you’ve worked on:• Autonomous cars or trucks• Formula SAE Driverless• University self driving teams• Robotics vehicles or UGVs• Autoware, CARLA, ROS or similar autonomy stacks• Drive by wire or vehicle CAN systemsStrong Python or C++ skills are important.
