Escrow Accountant

The Escrow Accountant will conduct the financial aspects of escrow disbursement functions with a particular focus on operations in the southern states. The role involves processing escrow receipts & disbursements and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities and Duties include, but not limited to:Record receipts and disbursements of escrow funds for real estate settlement transactions. Assist with the maintenance of escrow reconciliations and the clearance of outstanding reconciling items. Maintain detailed records and documents for each transaction. Resolve and identify discrepancies and imbalance issues. Assistance with company-wide insurance & corporate audit examinations. Ensure that department goals are met within provided timelines. Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and ensure the timely completion of accounting functions. Assist as needed in other states based on company needs. Perform ad hoc duties & reporting as needed. Position StandardsStrong attention to detail and organizational skills. Demonstrate ownership and direct accountability. Excellent interpersonal skills (both written & verbal) to effectively communicate both internally and externally to solidify business. Proficiency in escrow/accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel. Understanding of accounting principles, escrow regulations, banking/treasury operations, and title industry practices preferred. Ability to work well under pressure and deliver on deadlines in a fast-paced environment with periods of high volume. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn, with a positive attitude and a commitment to teamwork. Position RequirementsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Experience in escrow accounting or a related field preferred but not required. Licensing or knowledge of real estate regulations in West Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida and South Carolina are a plus but not required. Qualia experience is a plus but not required.
