It supports various technologies, including VDI, API management, and infrastructure tools and processes to ensure business systems operate efficiently, reliably, and securely.ResponsibilitiesPlan and implement database designs, including the creation and maintenance of cloud databasesAllocate resources such as Storage / Compute / Memory. Implement strategies for HA, Failover DR and Replication.Fine-tune database systems to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability - including monitoring and optimizing database query performance, indexing etc.Establish access and authentication controls to secure data, setup encryption, masking as required.Manage and monitor performance, security, and availability of databasesImplement database backup and disaster recovery proceduresWork with development teams to optimize database usage and query performanceCoordinate and manage migration of databases to Azure platformPerform capacity planning and demand forecasting for database systemsIdentify and troubleshoot any database-related issues in a timely mannerStay current with the latest Azure technologies, trends, and techniquesRequiredBachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training4 to 5 or more years of Database Administration experience. with any of the database management systems (Microsoft SQL Server, DB2 LUW, Oracle, PostgreSQL etc.).4 to 5 or more years of experience working with large database / large scale projects.4 to 5 years of experience with cloud-based database technologies (Azure SQL, Azure SQL MI, Azure SQL for PostgreSQL).Knowledge of cloud computing concepts, virtualization, and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platforms.Proficiency in SQL Server and Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.Is a self-starter with the ability to work with little management supervision.Has the ability to multi-task, be flexible and deal with interruptions and change.Can co-ordinate the triage, identification and resolution of complex production and non-production issuesProficient in SQL language, database principles, and data modelingMust be willing to work varying shifts (Day, Night, Slit, or weekends)1 to 3 years experience with NoSQL database systems (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, Neo4j, Neptune etc.).Familiarity with Microsoft DevOps and PowerShell scripting.Expertise in utilizing IaaS and PaaS services, including database services and Kubernetes.Understanding of IP subnetting, Network Security Groups, routing, Azure Firewall, load balancing, DNS, and other networking concepts and protocols.Experience with Azure SQL, PostgreSQL and other Azure data servicesKnowledge of Power Shell or other scripting languagesBasic understanding of containers and virtualization technologies( Kubernettes, VMWare) Skills, Licenses & CertificationsAll candidates will need the following.Familiarity with workflow and ITSM tools and ticketing systemsExcellent customer service skills with the ability to interface at all levels of the organization.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and perform in a collaborative, team-based environment.Experience with monitoring and alerting toolingExperience with CICD pipelines / GitHub actionsExperience with network connectivity and firewallsBasic understanding of leading cloud offerings Azure, GCP, AWSPossession of Azure certifications in specialized areas preferred.
